More Repeater News

It's fixed and back on the air, folks!

The problem stemmed from several blown components in the power supply of the repeater. Mid-State's resident repeater guru, Jay Chrisman AA9YP went down to the shack after a 24 hour shift at the fire department, and fixed the repeater. Due in large part to his efforts, we were back online in time to have our weekly net. Way to go, Jay! Make sure to email him and let him know how much you appreciate his efforts!

We were going to wire in the voter this weekend, but due to our outage, we are going to have to postpone it until next weekend. I will get with Ernest and get his schedule, and we will go from there. It was my sincere hope to the voter inline by the meeting, but it looks as though it won't happen quite that fast. But stay tuned. We'll post more info as more develops.

Also, congratulations needs to be extended to the fine folks at the 511 Repeater Association, who got the 145.11 repeater back online this weekend. So we started the weekend with no 2 meter repeaters in our county, and we end up with two! Kudos to the 511 folks as well.

Repeater News

The repeater is down right now. I went down to the shack, and whatever is wrong seems to be confined to the eclipse (which is the transmitter and receiver). The controller and DVR don't seem to be affected. It is possible that the eclipse took a hit during the storms today. I hope that this will prove not true, but it will take some time to diagnose the problem, and it might take more time to fix.

Keep your eye on this webpage. I will update you as we know more. Until then, since the 145.11 repeater is still down, one might want to conduct weather nets and other club functions on the AA9YP repeater (443.525 MHz 118.8 PL) or 146.550 MHz simplex.

More will be posted as we become aware of it.
