WRTFD strawberry fest intro
What originally began 24 years ago as a small one-day community event, the WRTFD Strawberry Festival has grown into a major two-day event with food, fireworks and emergency and safety demonstrations. Held every year at the Sugar Grove Elementary School, on the corner of This year’s highlights include display of the department’s apparatus, fireworks Saturday evening, vehicle extrication demonstration with the Indiana University Health LifeLine helicopter and much more. In addition to strawberry shortcakes, the WRTFD firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and staff will be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, corn, rib-eye sandwiches and more. All events are free of charge. Members of the MidState Amateur Radio Club participate every year on Saturday of the event with an amateur radio demonstration station for the public to stop by and find out about amateur radio.
